This week was really a great one. We saw many miracles and I just know that more are on the way.
I went on two exchanges- one in Logan and one in Brigham City! It was such a great experience to be able to work with some great missionaries and see some really cool places and meet some wonderful people! Both of these areas are right by temples - the Logan Temple and the Brigham Temple. #gorgeous. I love these temples and I love being close to them. I love being inside even more. They are just beautiful reminders of what the heck we are doing here. We can get caught up in so so many different things in this world and it's hard to keep everything in perspective sometimes. But in looking to the temple there's the constant comfort in knowing that God is bigger than all the hard things and that Christ's love and mercy are infinite and can reach us wherever we might be. I'm here to serve Them, to help people come to know Them and feel of that miraculous love and mercy that is so freely offered.
We weren't able to be in our own area as much as we wanted to be (there is so much going on!) and so we decided that we were going to work as hard as we could and leave the rest to God. We tried hard not to waste a single second. We got pretty exhausted pretty fast though and one day resorted to chocolate for sustained energy. That was a really bad idea because we met this kid named Joseph. Joseph proudly told us he was 9 and that he turned 9 not very long ago. Sister Anderson tried really hard. She meant to say, "wow! That's really great! You haven't been 9 for very long then". But instead it came out like this, "wow! You're not very old!" And the kid just looked at her for a second and- very defiantly- said, "uh! Im nine!!" I was laughing so hard after that I was crying for a good 5 minutes hahaha.
We tried really hard to get people to church. We called and invited, we sent fellowshippers, and we stopped by their homes on Sunday morning. We sang "The Day Dawn is Breaking" on a doorstep in order to wake someone up and get him to church. We had several miracles happen where people asked work off and they actually got it off, and where people said they would drive back from Idaho in order to go. And nobody came. That was really hard. We had worked so hard for people to be able to go and we tried really hard to trust the Lord since we had lost those days on exchanges. And while the sacrament was being passed I just prayed for relief. And guess what. It came :) the Savior's power is real. Faith is a choice, happiness is a choice-- enduring to the end is a choice. And Christ is there to help us once we have made that choice.
3 Yea, blessed are the poor in spirit who come unto me, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
10 And blessed are all they who are persecuted for my name’s sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
12 For ye shall have great joy and be exceedingly glad, for great shall be your reward in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you.
Amo a mi salvador Jesucristo. Yo sé que está es Su obra y estoy muy feliz y agradecida por esta oportunidad de participar en ella y servir a mi Dios con todo que tengo.
I love my Heavenly Father, I love this mission, and I love you all!!
