Last week Sister Anderson and I got to go and visit Cesar and Bricia again. It was such a tender mercy. My heart is so filled with gratitude to God for letting me know them, and with so much love for that beautiful family! They made us dinner and told us they know the church is true. It was just amazing.
I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon! I'm learning that what I can do is love and invite people to come unto Christ, but the Book of Mormon can persuade them to do it. There will come a day when all of us will have doubts. We will question everything- who we are, why we're here, who God is and if all of this is true. The Book of Mormon was written for our day- for us!! It's the thing that will bring us to Christ, it will persuade us to doubt our doubts and press forward with faith. And as soon as we take a few steps of faith Christ is there and things get so much brighter again. We find the strength to make the choice to be joyful, to keep the commandments, to serve others... It's so important for each of us to read the Book of Mormon consistently- we will come to know Jesus Christ by reading that book.
So I have a funny story!!
We were in a lesson with a lovely lady named Nora Hidalgo. I was saying something about why we choose be baptized when all of a sudden Sister Anderson jolts up straight and says, "TENGO una pregunta!!" (I have a question!!!) and then she stops for a second and thinks. And asks the same question I had just asked but a lot more intense and says that the Savior is coming and we need to prepare. It was a pretty cool moment. What was funny was after the lesson I asked her about it and she said she had fallen asleep and had a dream about the second coming and realized she was asleep and the first thing she could think of to say so that she could wake up was, "I have a question!!" Hahaha I died laughing.
A little later in the week I was on the phone with our favorite member in the branch- Hermana Going. We were asking if we could stop by their house for a second. She said "yes, mi casa es su casa" and I said, "oh! You passed the swimming test?" We were both really confused. I hung up the phone and forgot about it until we got there. Hermana Going thinks I'm a lunatic xD
I love my Savior Jesus Christ. Happiness is a choice because of His Atonement. I am so grateful for forgiveness and for second chances. I love being a missionary :)
Love you!!
Hermana Ogden
