This week my heart is literally so full of gratitude. It's been a week
where I have learned so much more about God's infinite love for me and
for the people I know and have been given the opportunity to serve
here. There is nothing better than serving :).
Soooo!!! Grandma!!! You were right!! Positivity works miracles. I'm just loving it here and loving the people and am feeling so joyful.
Agency is one of Gods most precious gifts to His children because if we learn how to use it we can do so much good and we can be so happy.
We read the scripture D&C 84:88 this week and by the power of the Holy Ghost I know it is true. 88 And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and
on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up. I realized that sometimes there is a split second to swerve around the deer and we KNOW we can't save ourselves. And then there's times when we feel like we have plenty of time to change lanes and figure it out
and we think we've got it made. The trick is to learn to rely fully on the merits of Him who is mighty to save. Pride is a tricky thing.
We performed with the Logan Institute Choir this weekend in a fireside called Come and See that focused on Jesus Christ and how we can "come and see" and feel of His love and His strength, and His truth for
ourselves. It was so powerful. It was overwhelming to me to see many of the missionaries I have served with before and be in the Logan Tabernacle again. The mission has changed my life so much and I know it is because this is Gods work. There isn't time for doubts and there isn't time for discouragement- there is only time for service and love and hope and faith.
FUNNY STORY!
We started the day- and this day was a particularly damp day because it had snowed the day before (all day. It's April.) and so I was wearing my rain boots! I love my rain boots. I've never walked very much in them before though. And as we are walking all of a sudden I feel like the ground is squirming and I'm freaking out and don't know what's going on!! I start to jog a little bit to see if it helps and all if a sudden a big sucking sound happens and I look back and the bottom half of my shoe is sitting on the sidewalk a few steps behind
me. What a weird experience.
Another. You know you're a missionary in cache valley when someone offers to buy you fresh cheese ^^
So many miracles happened this week.
An investigator Maddy (9) read three chapters of the Book of Mormon instead of 3 verses. And her mom felt the spirit when we sang I am a child of God.
A member of the stake presidency asked us to pray that this potential investigator family would accept his invitation to meet with us. A few hours later we got the text with an appointment all set up!!
With the help of our ward mission leader we found a (another) new family to teach. They haven't been approached by missionaries before. And when we knocked the mother let us right in and told us she has
been looking for a way to get back to church and bring her family with her -- and then we showed up.
We were referred over to a more hostile family. We prayed that they would be outside so we could talk to them more naturally and less offensively. We got there almost right as they pulled into their driveway and got to introduce ourselves.
A less active mother of nonmember children agreed to help us in our missionary training meeting.
THE BOOK OF MORMON. That book of scripture is a miracle. And I love it so so much. I know it is true.
"14 Behold, I am he who was prepared from the foundation of the world
to redeem my people. Behold, I am Jesus Christ. I am the Father and
the Son. In me shall all mankind have life, and that eternally, even
they who shall believe on my name; and they shall become my sons and
my daughters."
Les quiero muchissimo. Con todo corazón.
